Hi, Iā€™m Dr. Nadia Richardson

I am a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) consultant, speaker, mental health advocate and educator. I have over 20 years of experience as a diversity trainer, mental health nonprofit founder/leader and university instructor. In the field of diversity, equity and inclusion, I have developed a signature program that equips clients to move beyond diversity towards an action-oriented understanding of cultural competence, responsiveness, identity and implicit bias.

I have worked with corporations, public agencies, nonprofit organizations, and higher education institutions. I frequently speak on a variety of issues relative to creating a safe, culturally competent and inclusive workplace.

In addition to DEI training, I am the founder of No More Martyrs, a nonprofit organization that serves as a mental health awareness campaign for Black women and girls.

As a university instructor, I have developed and taught college courses on diversity, bioethics, social justice leadership, health disparities, culturally responsive care and academic potential.

My Approach

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) is not a destination; it is a journey. It requires a life-long commitment to learn, grow and adjust. My approach to these efforts is intentional and action-oriented.

Intentionality

DEI efforts require intentionality and responsiveness. Education is just the first step in this direction. I lead clients through a series of development exercises that tap into their personal understanding of self and connects them to the larger issue of what DEI really is. I intentionally address challenges while creating a safe environment for clients to grow.

Action-Oriented

In order to be effective, DEI policies, programs and trainings must be action-oriented. This requires on-going assessment and accountability. If done correctly, culture shifts. I provide clients with strategies to move beyond a surface level understanding of DEI towards an action-oriented understanding of cultural competence, bias and inclusion.
